Contrast Clause: Hereby another version of this excellent show! This capture is a complete version to supplement the excellent nearly complete version of this show already on DIME: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=162550 The recording was done by a different taper using different recording equipment and can be considered an improvement in terms of completeness and the lack of a few flaws in some songs, whereas the overall audio quality, in my opinion, is comparable to the existing version (mixing is slightly different). I would strongly recommend that the already accessible version is maintained on DIME as it could possibly be used to create a pretty good matrix in the future. This version is however complete, which I think is the main justification for putting this one up! Mixing and Mastering Notes: This is not a perfect recording and it generally suffers from some of the same problems as the previously posted version (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=162550). The recorder was located in the inner pocket of my jacket and this obviously also impaired the quality to a minor extent. However, the quality is not too bad considering that it was recorded among the audience. There were severe global issues to be fixed to obtain a decent sounding recording. Channels were analyzed using general statistics. The left channel was distorted due to the very powerful (and beautiful!) bass at the show. Some EQ’ing and alterations with respect to balancing the stereo image was performed to address this. In particular a huge lump of the lower frequencies in the left channel had to be notched away. Multi band dynamics were applied as well as multi band dynamic excitement to attain a clear and well-separated sound. iZotope Ozone 3 (a mastering plug-in) was used to apply these changes. The recording was finally evaluated on my high-end stereo, my car stereo and a small ghetto blaster and final adjustments were made. Still several issues remain to be fixed but I currently do not have the time to do this. These problems have to be addressed individually and it is a quite time consuming process. In some cases, particularly regarding the first two songs and for instance the bass drum in ‘Wrapped Around Your Finger’, the bass is distorted. An irreversible issue is that my brothers and I are sometimes talking a bit and singing along - we are at times slightly out of key - so now you’re forewarned!! Fortunately, the majority of the recording is not suffering from these unfortunate mishaps! I should finally mention that I am by no means anything near a professional sound engineer so if any of you audio wizards out there would like to have a ‘go’ processing the original (raw) 16 bit, 48kHz wav-files, please send a PM to me :) /Mads - ** Sat 22nd Sep, 2007 19:05 GMT length expanded size cdr WAVE probs filename 4:49 55443500 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t01.flac 6:00 69206060 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t02.flac 6:17 72417324 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t03.flac 7:18 84017196 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t04.flac 5:08 59113516 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t05.flac 5:42 65667116 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t06.flac 5:59 69009452 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t07.flac 3:52 44564524 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t08.flac 4:51 55967788 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t09.flac 6:19 72745004 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t10.flac 5:04 58392620 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t11.flac 4:45 54722604 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t12.flac 4:57 56950828 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t13.flac 7:05 81657900 cxx -- -xx CD1/d1t14.flac 9:07 105054252 cxx -- -xx CD2/d2t01.flac 5:42 65634348 cxx -- -xx CD2/d2t02.flac 7:03 81133612 cxx -- -xx CD2/d2t03.flac 5:47 66650156 cxx -- -xx CD2/d2t04.flac 6:33 75497516 cxx -- -xx CD2/d2t05.flac 112:19 1293845316 B (totals for 19 files, 0.5648 overall compression ratio)
