Next To You 5:36 Notes: For completists only. You all know the story behind this. I was rushed and only brought in the Edirol. I didn't even bother going to my folding chair on the field; I just stood in the back, in the open space the whole time. I put the Edirol in my right pants pocket. I had the mics on low gain and the input level on 10, but it didn't look like it was picking up very much so I switched to high gain. You can hear the abrupt change at 2:31 of "Walking on the Moon." This is a very difficult listen as the first two and one-half songs are barely audible, and then once the mic went on high gain, the kick drum is outrageously loud and distorted. Also, the bass was turned up very loud during "Can't Stand Losing You" and "Next To You," and there are parts where the bass dominates everything, and all you can hear is distortion. If I had the low cut filter on, it might have been a decent recording, despite all of my problems. The beginning of Walking In Your Footsteps and King of Pain, when there's no bass or kickdrum, actually sound decent. Truly, only the most die-hard Police completists can listen to this from start to finish. Some titles for this recording: "You're Fired," "Party's Over" and "It Was Worth It, **." FFP file, shntool results and ticket included. Not that anyone would want this, but please don't trade outside the group except for other uncirculated Police.
