These shotgun caps did really well on this gig. Nice and clear. I transferred the master cassettes to reels back in 82. He had more from earlier that day but this is all I snagged at the time. So, the basic geneology is: Nakamichi 300's w/ CP-4 Caps into Nak 550 (Master) transferred to 1/4 track reels @ 7.5ips > DAT > CDR. Notes from Rogier's Police Page: The first edition of the Us Festival gave over 400,000 concertgoers thirty-four hours of music spread across three days (03, 04 and 05-09-1982) during Labor Day weekend, delivered over the best outdoor sound system (400,000 watts) ever constructed. The festival was organized and financed by Steven Wozniak, the founder of Apple Computer. All the acts benefited from the two fifty-foot-high video screens that flanked the stage. "The only problem with these screens is that you can't pick your nose," said Sting as he did just that during the set. Ranking Roger (of English Beat) joined The Police during One World. During Can't Stand Losing You: "I think I can speak for all of the groups here tonight. You are the biggest audience we've ever played to at one time. That doesn't mean much, unless you act as one. Unless you have cohesion. 140,000 people doing something joyful... No, not that. I mean singing". The Police took home about $350,000. shntool len results: length expanded size cdr WAVE probs filename 4:52.71 51675836 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 01.flac 3:53.61 41244716 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 02.flac 4:42.37 49831868 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 03.flac 3:47.71 40209836 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 04.flac 3:50.46 40680236 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 05.flac 4:11.03 44283500 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 06.flac 4:58.56 52698956 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 07.flac 5:59.25 63386444 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 08.flac 5:19.54 56398652 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 09.flac 5:51.59 62055212 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 10.flac 3:19.67 35261228 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 11.flac 5:09.62 54653468 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 12.flac 4:22.70 46381484 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 13.flac 5:48.18 61429580 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 14.flac 3:38.19 38499932 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 15.flac 7:43.45 81779084 --- -- -xx Police 1982-09-03s1- 16.flac 77:31.14 820470032 B (totals for 16 files, 0.5899 overall compression ratio) Flac Fingerprints: Police 1982-09-03s1- 06.flac:299dce377457bd732a6687eb30e5b175 Police 1982-09-03s1- 02.flac:440f2d508302e5e61d5035ee0c9909ef Police 1982-09-03s1- 03.flac:b16f8b25cea98568a694f83dc8054f40 Police 1982-09-03s1- 04.flac:a10d2d20311a131612a681592a904015 Police 1982-09-03s1- 05.flac:d67038f9ef183dfec2bc3f489da8c582 Police 1982-09-03s1- 01.flac:9859076d2a00943b25c625d033d0841b Police 1982-09-03s1- 07.flac:23842b9326b2122d67b367f139f7eeff Police 1982-09-03s1- 08.flac:64bd78da10988729a933da862068b6d8 Police 1982-09-03s1- 09.flac:a229b2f376d7d87be672929e01065581 Police 1982-09-03s1- 10.flac:3f15dd1491974b6aa0c164f631846210 Police 1982-09-03s1- 11.flac:5e844535a80b14c1a8c0c1a015e9e608 Police 1982-09-03s1- 12.flac:9ea80f0798084a1f485d1164aaf616be Police 1982-09-03s1- 13.flac:762853e34a2ca109886fb2078b4471b1 Police 1982-09-03s1- 14.flac:53ea9924a7ccb01d82428b84916aa999 Police 1982-09-03s1- 15.flac:e6ff6eb54aa49c81afeb1bce1828fd6a Police 1982-09-03s1- 16.flac:71c04c8433ab4e15b7a928620d1c7157 MD5 checksums: 173ae014381ee374cc8129e75fe96380 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 01.flac 0842f47d0b1843e0c171335f4b56718d *Police 1982-09-03s1- 02.flac a1f36b31c9e168e5aaaa2050d40cc767 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 03.flac 36a69831c8f71cfdc93d9c5012ba6928 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 04.flac e6d35b89c3d67f4e5ebdd597d4bfb488 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 05.flac 8e5457c05a43c7bb701d33b267a1bb44 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 06.flac 466bf1b732a330ee7581590bf6f5ea09 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 07.flac 5b4b8f65344e6d0bd241b87939d73798 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 08.flac 399a46bf61057db0c9a57d4a5b160e0f *Police 1982-09-03s1- 09.flac aa3dce7ca9a6d9b4ee0c8454b70952fe *Police 1982-09-03s1- 10.flac e65062f964a1818da909bb35a1a73721 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 11.flac f1b8badadeedc57f7723f78eb29380d4 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 12.flac 77bcfc64a4cf7e3ec849d0556bef3dcc *Police 1982-09-03s1- 13.flac 03c8e62e3746b497e2deb19668fa7120 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 14.flac 7dea79478d8ed7d49ff91cae6a66bf19 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 15.flac 789c1f76cac0112a1f41a51e7b6f3670 *Police 1982-09-03s1- 16.flac
