Here are links to sites where you can find records.
Please notice that, except where indicated, I did not do any business
with them, so you're on your own, at your risk etc etc etc.
Where possible, in square brackets how did I found them.
If you had any experience with some of these, or if you have other pointers,
drop me a note and I will insert it here, I'm specially interested in
real life experience with them.
Revolution
International [RC]; specialized in items from Japan. I bought a
Japanese DVD from them, they were a little slower than reported on site
but at least it arrived. They have very english prices (i.e. high).
British Vinyl Network [RC];
Sort of metasite with a common database from many dealers.
Your search goes through all the dealers or a subset.
One of their dealers should package better the items. One of my packet
arrived damaged, damaging also the cover of a 12" Radio Show
inside (but, you know, english has those thin record mailers).
Midnight Records [Goldmine];
CD bootlegs mainly. I ordered a couple, got without problems. Please
note that some may be CDR repro, but are usually very well done.
Jack Wolak's Rare Necessities
[Goldmine]; various stuff, including radio shows but seems no bootlegs.
Got stuff without problems.
Rock Solid International [Goldmine];
Many Radio shows. Ed really cares of his work, he will send you the
items packaged in a way you'll spent 20 minutes to open the parcel;
AND he will mail you a separate letter with the invoice, listings
and also his appreciation for your business with him...
CD baby; specialized in
independent music. Here you can find the anthology Ho Ho Ho Spice,
with Yo Ho Ho by Stewart Copeland. (Ordered from them,
got fast).
Saturn Records [Goldmine];
various stuff, including bootlegs. BEWARE!
They're NOT selling the silver discs, but CDR bootleg copies!
They also made confusion on my order and sent the wrong items.
I complained, they did a second shipping but again with wrong items!
CD Japan; I made a couple
of orders, and got without problems. Shipping takes around
3 weeks. I have a report from a guy whose stuff did get lost in the
mail; I'll tell you how it goes so we'll see their replacement methods.
